My Story

It Started in a Kitchen

When I was little, I often saw my mom cooking, and I always wanted to be in the kitchen, but I wasn't drawn to cooking. I was drawn to baking. I always made the treats when we had Thanksgiving dinner together and during big family dinners. I absolutely love sweets, and when I make them, I love seeing people's look of joy and knowing they truly enjoy them.

When I was nine, my dad bought my favorite car that he has, a 1970 Volkswagen bus. It's bright orange, cute, and quirky. I loved it so much my dad made the licence plate Boos Bus since he always calls me boo.

I have always been hyper aware of the unhoused crisis in Cincinnati. Ever since I was ten, I wanted to do something about it, too. So, when I was thinking of a project I might want to do, my mom suggested I combine the two things I'm passionate about.

Still, I wanted my project to have a component that stands out, so in comes the bus. Then, the name was born: Flour Power, substituting 'flower' for 'flour' as it's the ingredient that many of my treats contain, and basing all our branding around the 1970s peace and love movement since that's when the bus was made, with our brand colors being bright orange and purple.

This project has been something I have been working on for months, and I'm excited to finally share it with the world and make the impact I have always wanted to.
